Chambers
“Chambers 4”, 2021
concrete, mdf, dibond, eps-foam, mirrors, filler, sand, acrylic, leds
This illusory concrete object is part of a series that came about in relation to the vulnerability of our civilisation. Seemingly carved by time, the surface cracks and holes give an experience of spacial depth when viewed up close. The ambiguous title might bring dark associations but may also refer ot the intimacy of a home or a sacred place. The uncanny cavities seem inhabited by various unknown organisms.
Chambers 4 (images above and details below) is on view at Eskilstuna Konstmuseum until Ferbuary 13th 2021! It is then to be installed in a public space through Statens Konstråd.
Chambers 4, 2021 by Oscar Furbacken
